"Loved staying here! Super chill vibes and Abdul is the coolest. I felt like I was at home. The rooftop terrace is awesome for watching sunset and staying warm even when it's windy. I was only there four days and wish I stayed longer. I will be back!"

2 years agoImsouane is a small fishing village on Morocco's Atlantic coast, tucked between Agadir and Essaouira. It has become one of Africa's most sought-after surf destinations thanks to its consistently mellow waves, warm water, and laid-back atmosphere. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced surfer looking for long, glassy rides, Imsouane delivers. West Coast Surf is a family-run surf camp in Imsouane that has been welcoming guests since 2019.
The Bay is Imsouane's signature surf spot and produces what many call Africa's longest rideable wave — with rides stretching over 800 metres on the best days. It breaks over a sandy bottom, making it ideal for beginners and longboarders. The gentle, peeling right-hander works on all tides and rarely gets overhead, which is why surf camps in Morocco consistently point to Imsouane as the best place to learn.
Just around the headland, Cathedral offers a punchier, faster right-hand point break over rock and reef. It picks up more swell than The Bay, making it the go-to spot for intermediate and advanced surfers looking for more power and speed. Our surf lessons in Imsouane cover both spots depending on conditions and your skill level.
Imsouane is surfable year-round, but the prime season runs from September to April when Atlantic swells are most consistent. Winter months (November–February) bring the biggest waves to Cathedral, while The Bay remains beginner-friendly throughout. Water temperatures range from 17°C in winter to 22°C in summer — a 3/2 wetsuit is all you need most of the year. Our surf camp in Morocco operates all twelve months, with accommodation in Imsouane available from €25 per night.
The nearest airport is Agadir Al Massira (AGA), about 90 minutes north by car. Marrakech Menara (RAK) is a 4-hour drive. We can arrange airport transfers for all guests. Once you arrive at our surf house in Imsouane, everything — the beach, the village, and the surf — is within walking distance.
